A software engineer from Cebu was crowned Miss World Philippines 2021 during a competition held in Subic, Olongapo City early Monday morning, Oct. 4.
Crowd favorite Tracy Maureen Perez edged out 44 other candidates for the national title.
Perez, 28, will represent the Philippines at the Miss World beauty pageant in Puerto Rico in December.
This is the second time Perez joined the Miss World Philippines pageant. In 2020, Perez landed a spot in the top 12 finalists.
Perez is a pageant veteran who has participated in other contests since 2016.
She is an industrial engineering graduate at the University of San Carlos. She currently works as an associate software engineer in a private company.
Perez thanked her family, friends, and fans for their support in her pageant journey.
“To my Cebu Team and Manila Team, to my mentors, to my loved ones, to my Mommy Chona in heaven, I can’t wait to show the world the fruit of all our hard work and sacrifices, thank you for sticking with me since Day 1. My heart is full of love and gratitude for all of you,” she said.
