Jalen Green’s (L) Houston Rockets will be hosting Filipino Heritage Night at the Toyota Center when they face Jordan Clarkson’s Utah Jazz
MANILA, Philippines – The Houston Rockets will be hosting Filipino Heritage Night when Jalen Green and Jordan Clarkson lock horns on October 28 (October 29, Manila time).
Green, the 2021 NBA Draft No. 2 overall pick, and Clarkson, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, are both of Filipino descent.
Fans will attendance at the Toyota Center will be given a Jalen Green shirt as part of the celebration.
They also get to go to a postgame Q&A with Green, whose mother traces her roots to Ilocos Sur.
Green has previously talked about representing his Philippine roots as he rises in the NBA.
Meanwhile, Clarkson has openly discussed his Filipino heritage as well.
He also played for Gilas Pilipinas in 2018.
The Golden State Warriors and the Nets also celebrate Filipino Heritage Night having significant Filipino communities in their markets.
