Things we love about Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana’s wedding

Emotional, sincere, and heartwarming.

According to netizens, these adjectives perfectly describe the beautiful wedding ceremony of Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana held on October 23, 2021.

The Kapuso couple, who has been in a relationship for over seven years, tied the knot at San Juan Nepomuceno Parish Church, a Spanish-colonial era church nestled in San Juan, Batangas.

Having played husband and wife on television several times, Carla and Tom opted for a classic-style wedding in real life. Here are some memorable highlights from the wedding:

Carla’s natural mestiza beauty shone brightest as she walked down the aisle wearing a white embroidered Monique Lhuillier gown, her dream wedding dress which she personally picked up from New York.

Event photographer Nelwin Uy uploaded a photo of Carla’s bridal look on Instagram and captioned it with: “Classic! One of my favorites of Carla. The anticipation, the moment. It’s magical [heart emoji].”

To accentuate her undeniable glow, celebrity make-up artist Juan Sarte went for a “morning bride” beauty look. Meanwhile, John Valle was in charge of her low-bun hairstyle.

Tom was equally dashing in his black suit by Francis Libiran.

On an Instagram post last October 24, the dapper groom thanked his “Avengers Team” for making him “look and feel every bit as worthy for my beautiful bride/wife.”

Tom quipped, “Pero syempre papatalo ba ako sa ganda ni misis? Eh di resbakan natin!”

The “Avengers Team” was composed of Francis for his suit, Lala Flores for his make-up, and Erlie Bantayao for his hair.

Event stylist Gideon Hermosa did spectacular work by filling the church aisle with lush yet delicate white-and-green blooms. The aisle was also lit with ground lanterns, making it look perfect for Carla’s grand entrance.

The couple’s closest friends were present to witness their union.

Carla’s bridesmaids are (L-R) Grachel Arlene Navarro, Macy Zozobrado, Libay de Guzman, Iya Villania, and Jewel Sunga.

Tom’s groomsmen include fitness coach Billy James Cash, JC Tiuseco, Sid Lucero, Rafael Rosell, and the actor’s long-time assistant Arnil Derotas, among many others.

Kapuso talents Jasmine Curtis Smith, Rocco Nacino, Alyana Asistio, Christian Bautista, Kelley Day, Erin Ocampo, and Valeen Montenegro all came to celebrate with the couple.

Celebrity beauty doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho Jr., and actresses Sylvia Sanchez and Janice de Belen were also present at the couple’s wedding.

As he stood next to his mother, Teresita Abinguna-Mott, Tom was overwhelmed by the excitement and happiness at seeing Carla walk down the aisle towards him.

Pat Dy’s team captured the heartwarming moment and uploaded it on Instagram.

Carla’s supportive parents Rey “PJ” Abellana and Aurea Reyes were also emotional as they witnessed their daughter marry the man of her dreams.

Happy tears flowed when the couple started reciting their promises of forever to each other.

In his declaration, Tom said that had his father William Albert “Bill” Mott Sr. been around, he would have shared the happiness of his son for having Carla in his life.

Tom’s father, after fighting for many years, succumbed to cancer on March 25, 2021, in the United States.

In her declaration, Carla said Tom is her answered prayer.

The 35-year-old Kapuso actress recalled completing the nine-day “Simbang Gabi” in 2013 and how she wished to meet her future husband, not realizing she had already met him.

Gideon retained the black-and-white motif in the reception held at El Jardin De Zaida, a resort hotel also located in San Juan, Batangas.

In the couple’s wedding video uploaded by videographer Bob Nicolas on Monday, October 25, 2021, Carla teased how she would make her then-husband-to-be cry.

She said, “Today, papaiyakin ko yun, promise.

“Meron din akong mga surprise sa kanya like yung sa church, the cowboy hat of his dad, his late dad, ilalagay ko sa tabi ng mom niya sa church…

“Iiyak iyan!”

True enough, Tom got emotional as he and Carla had their first dance as husband and wife while a video of his father singing Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” played on the LED screen.

An elegant five-tiered wedding cake was among the many highlights of the reception.

Chef Michael Llamanzares-Aspiras, Carla’s best friend, wrote on Instagram, “we’ve always dreamt of this day. For me to be able to make your wedding cake.

“In spite of all the odds this pandemic has brought I still sort of made it come true with the help of my team of course. Continue to have an amazing life with @akosimangtomas.”

Meanwhile, the couple’s guests feasted on food prepared by K. by Cunanan Catering.

Carla and Tom’s wedding was organized by Christine Ong Te Events.

KC Montero and Alex Calleja served as the event hosts.

Bob Nicolas was the couple’s official videographer.

Pat Dy and his team of photographers including Nelwin Uy, Chissai Bautista, and Caliber King were in charge of capturing the couple’s magical moments in pictures.
